Mayflex was formed in 1917 in Birmingham, England and over that time the business has evolved dramatically from selling Swan Kettles, Switchgear Cables and associated products to electrical, voice and coaxial cabling. Over the last two decades the focus has been on copper and fibre cabling, racks, Ethernet switches, wireless and IP Security.

We understand converged IP technology and the Internet of Things, far more devices are being connected to the network to improve efficiencies, safety, health, use of time and energy and to reduce costs. In April 2015 Mayflex was acquired by Sonepar, an independent family-owned company with global market leadership in B-to-B distribution of electrical products and related services.

Sonepar has €32.5 billion of revenue in 2024 and is represented by 90 brands in 40 countries on five continents with 46,000 associates. Drawing on the skill and passion of our 280 associates, Mayflex had sales of £174.3 million in 2024. We hold on average £18 million of stock with approx. 2300 lines being dispatched every day with over 98% of our orders being fulfilled from stock. With two large warehouses in Birmingham in the UK we have 12,000 pallet locations as well as space for cabinet configuration and our Specialist Support Services. We have 4 locations in the UK and an office and warehouse in Dubai to cater for the Middle East. We sell our Excel brand via distributors throughout the World.

We are leading the way when it comes to the environment, our shipments are sent out using plastic-free recyclable materials and our brands Excel and Aura are the first in the industry for data cabling and AV components, to be supplied in plastic free packaging, saving millions of plastic bags from entering the supply chain each year.
